The Grumpy Queen · Estimated 8–9 years old

The Paranormal Gentleman · About 3 years old
A peace-loving, half-orange gentleman who has known Ruby since kittenhood. He investigates suspicious wall activity with intense staring and a cautious paw. No bugs or webs have been found.
The Affectionate Menace · Nearly 1 year old
The ginger newcomer joined the household in summer 2026. He has managed one historic nap beside Ruby, but still occasionally challenges her authority—and Carlos's patience.

Every queen requires a throne worthy of her station. For Her Majesty Ruby, that throne is the human's computer chair, generously furnished with a soft Mass Effect Reapers blanket.
Once feared throughout the galaxy, the Reapers have met their match: a grumpy little queen who finds them excellent bedding.
Royal Decree #001: The computer chair belongs to Her Majesty. The human may borrow it when the Queen sees fit.
Throne status: Occupied 💤 · Galactic threat level: Neutralized by cat.
Eddie cuddled up beside Carlos and began lovingly grooming him. Awww, how sweet! But it was a trap. Without warning, Eddie bit Carlos right in the side. Carlos let out a shocked meow and hopped away before Eddie could continue his ambush.
Today's lesson: When Eddie offers a complimentary grooming session, read the fine print.
Carlos stares intently at seemingly empty spots on the wall, then carefully reaches out a paw. No bugs. No webs. No other critters have joined his investigations. The case remains open.
After years of enduring Carlos's kitten antics, Ruby has grown fond of him. Eddie, however, is still learning his place. One day he even slept beside Her Majesty herself—a historic ceasefire, or the beginning of peace? Only the Queen knows.

Fresh from the royal recording studio! Her Majesty Ruby has traded her crown for a sideways cap, and Carlos has temporarily abandoned ghost hunting to drop some beats.
Their debut album, The Royal Duet, features such entirely fictional hits as Throne Stealer, Chicken Temptations, and Bedtime? Not Yet.
Album status: Imaginary. Attitude: Very real. Royal approval: Pending Ruby's inspection.

A shocking discovery has rocked the royal household. Her Majesty Ruby, who demands her own private, undisturbed dining experience, has been caught red-pawed eating the boys’ food.
Scattered kibble. An unauthorized dining location. And one unimpressed Queen staring directly at the investigator. When questioned, Her Majesty declined to comment.
Royal Investigation: Alleged offence — unauthorized consumption of the boys’ provisions. Aggravating circumstances — the Queen already enjoys private dining privileges. Photographic evidence — overwhelming.
Royal defence: All food within the kingdom is technically mine.
Verdict: Guilty of excessive royal entitlement. Sentence: None. The Queen has declared herself above the law.

A staffing crisis has struck the Royal Biscuit Factory. Eddie, the kingdom’s youngest biscuit-making apprentice, was scheduled for his morning shift. Unfortunately, management found him still lounging against his human, enjoying complimentary head scratches.
When reminded of his responsibilities, Eddie opened his eyes just long enough to acknowledge the complaint—and made absolutely no effort to relocate.
Employee report: Morning shift. Extremely cozy. Biscuits produced: zero. Excuse: insufficient cuddles. Management response: negotiations ongoing.
Her Majesty Ruby has reportedly expressed concern about declining productivity. Carlos remains unavailable for comment, citing an ongoing paranormal investigation.
Eddie’s official statement: “I cannot be expected to make biscuits under these working conditions. More cuddles are required.”
Factory status: Temporarily closed due to excessive cuteness.

An emergency meeting has been called. Eddie takes the lead in negotiations, Carlos suspends paranormal investigations, and Her Majesty Ruby supervises proceedings. Their demand? Only the finest Chicken Temptations.
Royal Council Resolution #001: The human complied. Chicken Temptations were served, and negotiations concluded successfully. The position of Royal Snack Provider has been retained.

Her Majesty Ruby temporarily vacated her throne. Carlos, the normally peaceful paranormal gentleman, seized the opportunity to inspect the royal seating arrangements. Was he hunting ghosts, considering superior napping accommodations, or plotting a quiet coup?
Royal Intelligence: The Queen was absent. Motive uncertain. Treason unproven.
Upon her return, there may be cuddles—or struggles. To be continued…
Forever in our hearts. A peaceful place for the companions whose pawprints remain with us.

Luna and her human travelled through their twenties and thirties together, through a breakup, uncertain homes, and the chapters that led to life today.
Her determination was obvious from puppyhood: she pushed her brother away from the food, and her greater size suggested she had been winning that contest for a while. She never lost her love of snacks.
Independent and adventurous, she wandered the woods, played with coyotes, and returned for dinner—sometimes bringing woodland finds that were decidedly unwelcome in the kitchen, including a deer face.
But when bedtime came, Luna would not settle alone. She would try to go to bed, come back with a quiet whine and a stare, and repeat until her human made the right decision. Whether at home or camping, bedtime belonged to them both.
She passed away a few years ago, leaving memories of a lifetime shared.
“The wilderness could have her days, but bedtime belonged to us.”

Gary’s story began unexpectedly. Originally brought home as a last attempt to encourage Shiva the boa to eat, this determined little mouse survived—and then thrived.
At first, Gary was not particularly interested in human friendship. With patience and treats, however, a morning ritual blossomed. Every morning he came out to collect a sunflower seed in its shell or one of his beloved raspberry fruit-drop mouse candies, taking his treasure in his tiny hands. Afterward, he would allow himself to be held.
He had opportunities to roam, but when the household’s cats arrived, his exploring time became more limited for his safety. Gary lived for another year and a half, passing away in 2026.
He wasn’t supposed to stay. But he did, and that made all the difference.
Forever remembered, Gary the Mouse Who Lived. 💜

Shiva, a beautiful patterned boa, was part of the family and has a place of her own among the pets remembered here.
Her photograph and more memories can be added to her tribute as her story is shared.
Forever remembered, Shiva. 💜
